Augelite

One of the best twinned Augelite crystals on matrix that I’ve handled from Bolivia. The piece was mined in the latter half of 2009. A beautifully isolated, sharp, very lustrous, gemmy, colorless penetration twin of Augelite is sitting on sparkling micro Quartz on matrix. Twins of this size, quality and caliber are simply not seen from Bolivia in virtually any capacity.

To have a hand sized display specimen of Augelite from Bolivia, let alone a twinned crystal on matrix is exceedingly rare. Only a very small percentage of the Augelites from Machacamarca are found in twinned crystals, and for the size and quality, this is what I would call a top-notch Augelite for any collector. There are only a few localities in the world that produce Augelites of any circumstance, and the top specimens from this area in Bolivia are among the best around.
