This specimen was collected in 2000, when Huanuni had a short, but prosperous boom of specimens. I personally obtained this piece at the mine on one of my first trips to Bolivia. I kept it as a memento of those early years visiting Bolivia, but it’s time for it to find a new home.
The piece features a very sharp, GEM quality, rather lustrous, rich emerald green, “sword”-shaped crystal with a beautiful termination on Pyrite matrix. The accompanying Vivianite on the side of the main crystal is contacted, but this is still a great quality piece from Huanuni, and certainly better quality than a lot of Vivianites from this mine from the standpoint of gemminess and color.
