A very attractive display specimen from this classic locality. Huanuni is actually the RICHEST Cassiterite deposit in the world, and although it’s best known for its phosphate species, occasionally some fine quality Cassiterite specimens are found.
Several fine, sharp, lustrous, beautiful, well-formed cyclic twinned crystals are associated with sharp, prismatic, white/colorless Quartz crystals aesthetically flaring out of the sides. The piece comes from my father’s collection, and was mined in the early 1980’s. His catalogue number (1887) is still glued to the base of the specimen. Great quality all the way around with very little damage, and certainly better than most from Huanuni from the standpoint of aesthetics.
