This rich golden Copal specimen is loaded with approximately 100 insect inclusions consisting mainly of termites (specifically termite wings) (Isoptera) a single ant (Formicidae), an ant-like stone beetle (Scydmaenidae) and caddisflies (Trichoptera). One of the inclusions could be a species of spider, based upon the form, but I can't say conclusively. The piece is notably gemmy / transparent and really looks good with a bit of backlighting to see in the insect inclusions. I'm always impressed when one finds a piece this size with such good clarity and so many insects preserved within. Please note: There is a spot in the corner of the specimen that looks like it might have a leaf preserved inside, though we can't be completely sure.
