Copal / Young Amber with insect inclusions

A remarkably GEM quality / WATER CLEAR specimen of this fantastic Colombian Copal featuring approximately 100 insect inclusions, mainly flies (Diptera), ants (Formicidae) and bark beetles (Scolytinae). The entire specimen is like a piece of golden glass, a quality that is rarely seen in such large pieces of this material. Usually once a piece is more than a few mm thick, it becomes cloudy and crazed leaving very little room to view what's inside. This piece must have hardened under ideal conditions as it has amazing clarity for a larger specimen.
