This is a superb cabinet specimen of this now classic material from the Kharan District in Pakistan. There are three aspects to this specimen that make it stand out from so many others on the market. First, the majority of the Brookite crystals are free-standing, which is remarkable for the species, as most Brookites are found lying flat on matrix. Secondly, the specimen has excellent isolation and spacing between the Brookites, giving the viewer several spots on the piece to enjoy the crystals. Lastly, the accompanying Quartz crystals are nearly equal sized to the Brookites and just as evenly spread out, so the piece has wonderful balance. The Brookites on this specimen show some of the richest red hues of any piece in the lot, and when backlit, you can see that they feature very eye-catching internal black "phantoms" creating some of the most picturesque patterns. Virtually every Brookite crystal is undamaged, and the fact that they are big (for the species) makes this piece even more enticing. Many of the Quartz crystals are GEM quality and create a wonderful contrast against the fiery Brookite blades. A fantastic display piece of Brookite from this remarkable locality.
