The various ore bodies in southern Bulgaria have produced a lot of memorable sulfide and carbonate specimens, and even though the Rhodochrosite from this area is not world-class, it IS the only locality that I know of where Rhodochrosite occurs with STILBITE! The combination of pink Rhodochrosite, cream-colored Stilbite, golden Chalcopyrite and white Quartz makes this a very attractive display piece. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that one side has near full coverage of Rhodochrosite, while the other side is filled with Stilbite. This is only one of the few pieces of this material that I have seen in my life where Rhodochrosite and Stilbite occur together on the same specimen.
