A superb specimen of the highly desirable and incredibly hard to find Peridot crystals from Mogok. There are two key aspects to this specimen that make it not only fine quality but as good as nearly anything I've seen from anywhere in Myanmar. First is the fact that the crystal is ON MATRIX! Peridot is rare enough from Myanmar, but this is one of only two matrix Peridot specimens that I've had to offer for sale, and I've been actively buying and selling minerals from this country since 1998. The matrix features a bit of silvery-grey Magnetite or Graphite, which is typically what you would expect out of a metamorphic contact like this. Secondly, this is one of the sharpest and most euhedral crystals I've ever had to offer from Myanmar. If you look around, you'll see that the majority of the Peridot crystals from Mogok, or anywhere else in Myanmar, are typically etched, sometimes quite heavily, but this crystal has smooth well-formed faces all over. Additionally, the crystal itself is virtually WATER CLEAR, and the bright green color glows when the crystal is backlit. There is a contact along the termination, so it's not 100% pristine, but it's still a remarkable and showy large thumbnail / toenail sized specimen of this highly sought after material.
