Zircon crystals are not terribly common from around Mogok, but to find crystals on matrix is exceedingly rare in my experience. This attractive miniature display specimen features a few gemmy, rich golden-brown colored Zircon crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm sitting on fine-grained off-white Feldspar matrix. The Zircons are rather gemmy when backlit, but perhaps the most interesting aspect of the crystals is that they are notably rounded as if they had been water-worn (alluvial), but this is impossible since the matrix is rather jagged. A very similar specimen can be viewed at https://www.mindat.org/photo-791449.html for reference. My best guess is that the Zircon crystals were so tightly compacted during their growth that they didn't have any room to completely crystallize and actually formed as amorphous "blebs" under very high temperature and pressure. An unusual and certainly eye-catching example of gemmy Zircon on matrix from Myanmar. This is the only specimen of this particular style that I've ever had to offer and was part of my personal collection for years.
