Gold specimens from Leadville are not common on the market and typically are snatched up immediately by collectors when they are made available. Recently, a local digger discovered a small amount of crystallized Gold specimens on the dumps of the Little Johnnie Mine, and this piece is one of said specimens. The piece is a beautiful, metallic, brightly colored "leaf" of Gold. It is actually crystallized (!), and I have photographed the Gold under the microscope to better show the detail. A great little Gold specimen from this historic and classic Colorado locality.
