A most unusual, doubly terminated “floater” crystal of white / colorless Quartz from this locality collected by Robert Stoufer with Carl Auclair in 1998. It’s obviously from a very obscure locality, and conspicuously different from most Quartz crystals I have seen from this area. The piece unquestionably shows a strange habit, and it is indeed a single crystal, not a group of intergrown complex crystals. Great luster and certainly gemmy / translucent in areas as well. If you collect Quartz or Colorado minerals, don’t miss out on this peculiar crystal from this well-known Quartz producing region.
