The Bulldog Mine operated from 1969 to 1985, producing 25 million ounces of Silver equaling $675 Million in today’s market. My father acquired this piece directly from the miner who found it in 1979. It’s a strange piece for sure, unlike anything I’ve seen from this locality. The piece is filled with somewhat cavernous semi-brecciated vugs of crystallized Quartz and “Amethyst” along with Agate which are associated with bladed white Baryte and micro minerals (possibly Pyrostilpnite and / or Xanthoconite). Additionally, the Quartz has an underlying pink hue that is caused by an unknown mineral (possibly Rhodochrosite?). The piece is more of a reference specimen, but if you collect Creede minerals, you can’t afford to miss out on this one, as it would make a unique addition to your collection.
