Orthoclase

These “floater” crystals are found in a weathered porphyritic granodiorite dike in West Maroon Pass. This sharp, textbook monoclinic prism shows the typical hazelnut brown color that is most commonly associated with this material. A beautiful example of Feldspar from Colorado.
