This is a great specimen from one of the most storied and well-known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations.
This particular specimen, has no Amazonite, but it is a great display piece featuring a radial "spray" of sharp, semi lustrous, metallic grey pseudomorphs of Hematite after Siderite aesthetically perched atop a mound of white crystallized Microcline. To top it off, the base of the specimen shows a few pale lilac Fluorite crystals. The pseudomorphs are essentially undamaged and are a perfect example of this well-known material. This specimen was collected over 30 years ago in August of 1980. Don't miss out on this great Colorado classic.
