Quartz (var: Smoky) with Goethite

A fine-looking cabinet sized, fully crystallized “floater” display specimen of Smoky Quartz from the Dreamtime Mine. Please note that this piece was difficult to photograph and truly looks better in person. It features several wonderful, sharp, very well formed, euhedral, DARK Smoky Quartz crystals with smooth, lustrous faces. A minor amount of attached black Goethite can be seen on the base of the piece that makes for a great touch. This piece is essentially undamaged and is so much fun to play with as you can see crystallization on all sides, and everywhere you would expect to see a contact, you see an actual crystal face. A great specimen from this productive pegmatite locality in Colorado.
