Hematite after Goethite

One of the few specimens of this material that I’ve encountered. This piece is essentially a pseudomorph of one iron oxide replacing another (i.e., Hematite and Goethite). This foliated group of good sized crystals is an excellent representation of a material that is rarely available on the market. My father acquired this piece from his Amazonite collecting partner, Clarence Coil in 1975.
