This piece was collected by the famous field collector Ed Over in the 1940’s and is the best crystallized Hematite I have seen from Buffalo Creek. It is a very aesthetic and eye-catching small cabinet display piece that passed through a few collections over the years. The piece is a cross between lamellar “Goethite”-esque growth with a coppery-reddish color mammillary “rounded” Hematite habit. Hematite like this is not common from Colorado. A special piece, and certainly with a great history behind it.
