A notable specimen of lustrous, well-formed, hexagonal prisms of Quartz with minor reddish-brown Hematite tinting from the famous Red Feather Lakes area in northern Colorado. Well known Colorado collector George Robertson gave this piece to me (more appropriately my parents) as a present for my first birthday after a digging trip to the area a few months prior. This specimen is one of the largest presentations from this locality that I have seen with minimal damage and enough outward appeal to make it really stand out. A special piece to me, especially because it came from George, and the fact that it’s one of the better non-ore body Quartz specimens that I have owned from Colorado.
