Fluorite with Calcite (GEM "ice" crystals)

The Huanggang Mine has given collectors a wide array of Fluorites for brief period. Colors range from green to pink to purple and even colorless! The colorless "ice" crystals from this locality are similar to the finest from places like Dalnegorsk, Russia and Naica, Mexico.

This piece features dozens of very sharp, WATER CLEAR, very well-formed, colorless crystals of Fluorite which are octahedral in habit. The Fluorites are elegantly associated with compressed, soft pink colored manganese-bearing Calcite with no matrix. One rarely sees such fine examples of GEM QUALITY Fluorites like this! The largest crystal measures 2.4 cm and despite one TINY nick, is in excellent condition. Yes, there are some imperfections on some of the lesser crystals where the piece was removed from the pocket, but the piece is still in superb condition overall. Great quality, aesthetics, and form make this a desirable and worthwhile small cabinet display of this beautiful material from this contemporary locality.
