Linarite is a well-known lead copper sulfate, and the Grand Reef Mine is one of the classic localities for the species. Typically, Linarite is found as small to microscopic azure blue crystals, either tabular or elongated, in clusters or as crusts. This piece features a good sized, beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue, crystal group of Linarite measuring a whopping 2.1 cm on Quartz and host rock matrix. You don't see many Linarite crystals over 1 cm, let alone 2 cm, so this is a very impressive piece, from one of the most famous localities for the species. There's a bit of roughness around the periphery, but the overall quality (luster, sharpness, color) is excellent for the species and the locality. If you've ever wanted to get your hands on a good Linarite from the Grand Reef Mine, this is a wonderful opportunity to get one for a good price. This mine is long closed, and you'll never see these specimens again.
