Here we have an exceptionally hard to find Sapphire crystal from the Chumar Ruby Mines in Nepal. I've only had a few of these over the years, and this is quite possibly the best one I've ever had to offer.
This piece is a fine quality, very sharp (not rounded or water worn), rather lustrous, well-formed, euhedral, hexagonal, striated, doubly terminated "floater" crystal with a lovely pinkish-purple color and superb gemminess (nearly WATER CLEAR on the terminations). There are a few tiny additional Sapphire crystals growing out of the main crystal (possibly twins?), giving the piece character. If you collect gem crystals, thumbnails or you've always wanted a really nice Sapphire for your collection, don't pass this one up.
The crystal weighs 5.73 carats
