Fluorite

The famous Shangbao Mine in China has been the source of some of the most attractive Fluorite specimens from any locality in the entire country, which is really saying something considering the large amount of Fluorite that has come out of various Chinese localities over the last couple decades. The Shangbao specimens feature beautiful color combinations along with eye-catching crystal forms, and this piece is a great example.

This miniature sized specimen features sharp, lustrous, GEM QUALITY, bi-colored modified crystals with rich purple "cores" and light greenish-blue exteriors measuring up to 1.3 cm across, intergrown to create a showy and eye-catching piece. The specimen is nearly a complete "floater" as it was etched off the matrix and almost fully re-crystallized, save one contacted area on the side. The quality is superb, and the alluring combination of colors makes it desirable and unique specimen that would make a great addition to any Fluorite suite or a collection of Chinese minerals.
