Anatase (doubly terminated crystals)

In the early 2000s, there was a find of superb "Alpine-type" quality Brookite and Anatase specimens from the Balochistan Region of Pakistan. The Anatase specimens found at this locality are some of the finest quality pieces found in the modern era of minerals. They are similar in style and quality to the best examples from Alpine localities in Norway and throughout Europe.

This specimen was mined in 2005. It features a pair of excellent, razor-sharp, lustrous, dark steel-blue colored, doubly terminated, tetragonal Anatase crystals with gem quality Quartz on matrix. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm. No major damage anywhere and the piece displays beautifully, as you can see from the photos. It's rare to have a pair of doubly terminated crystals on matrix like this, especially when they're so well isolated and distinct.
