Amblygonite is a relatively rare stone and is only found from a few localities in top gem material. Stones that approach five carats are highly sought after by collectors and deeply appreciated by those who have experience with rare gems. This particular stone has a light greenish color, and a "Round Brilliant" cut. With the naked eye, I cannot see any inclusions in this gem, which is impressive for the material, even in smaller gems. Amblygonite is too soft and brittle for jewelry, but these are not very common today in ANY size. This would make a great addition to any rare stone collection.
PLEASE NOTE: It is possible that this stone is actually Montebrasite, as a lot of material that has been labeled as "Amblygonite" has been incorrect for years, and it turns out that most of them are actually Montebrasite.
