A very attractive “locality” specimen, and a surprise discovery from early 2011. These are the only Copper “sheets” that I have seen from Corocoro, and according to the locals, there were very few found. Most people are familiar with the Copper pseudomorphs after Aragonite from this locality, but to find non-pseudomorphic, native Copper is rather rare in my experience.

This aesthetic, branching, "sheet" of Copper is a great display specimen from this historic locality. On the micro level, this piece shows very unusual "wormholes" that gives it an amazingly organic appearance. It truly resembles some kind of plant life, i.e. a group of leaves. Very unusual, and certainly out of the ordinary for Copper in general. Good Bolivian Coppers are not common on the market, and I was told that the locality was purchased by a Korean mining company, so collecting and obtaining specimens will become very difficult in the future.
