Almandine Garnets are some of the most vivid and beautiful gems in the Garnet family, plus they're harder to find than Grossular, Spessartine or Rhodolite. Almandines are beloved for their great red to purple-red color and larger sized stones.
This gem is very attractive with a notably saturated red color, virtually eye clean clarity and a standard "Oval Brilliant" cut. It was cut from a piece rough mined in the 1950s and brought back to the United States by Ed Swoboda. A great opportunity for a Garnet collector or a unique gift for someone with a January birthday as Garnet is the birthstone for that month.
