Rhodolite Garnet

Garnet is beloved in the gem world as it is found in every color of the rainbow. I’ve seen everything from colorless to black with every shade in between. It’s rare to find a Garnet over 5 carats in weight, but this stone is more than double that size, weighing at in impressive 10.51 carats! One of the problems with larger Garnet gems is that they become incredibly dark, where no color is visible. Despite its size, this large “Cushion” cut gem still shows an intense fiery red hue when rotated in the light. Amazingly, the stone has eye-clean clarity, which is exceptionally hard to find in a faceted stone of this material. A true collector quality Garnet and the material from the Umba Valley is the finest gem grade Rhodolite in the world.
