Ruby and Zoisite

This Ruby / Zoisite is a very nice "Heart" cabochon as it shows the hexagonal form of the deep pink-red Ruby crystals with surrounding green Zoisite. This is very attractive and well-known material, but rarely does one find a piece like this with such attractive form.

These Ruby / Zoisite specimens were found in Tanzania in 1954 (sometimes referred to as "Anyolite" after the Massai word for green), and are very popular among collectors, either as cabochons or for carvings. Little material is available today, so don't miss out.
