Color Change Sapphire (multiple colors)

There are not many gems in the world that exhibit a color change effect, where the gem will display a different color based upon the temperature of the lighting in which it is viewed. A true favorite of many collectors is the rare color change Sapphire. Some of the best examples of the exotic Sapphires come from Sri Lanka.

This stone shows a great color change with a steel-gray / lilac tone under 5000K LED lighting which shifts to a beautiful pinkish color under warmer temperature indoor lights and actually shows a wonderful GREENISH-BLUE color in sunlight (not pictured). We tried to get the color to show up in the camera when we took the stone outside, but it was too difficult to reproduce. Trust me, this is a unique and attractive stone that would make a great buy for anybody interested in the material. You're not seeing the best of what the stone has to offer from the photos.

The gem is only very slightly included (it actually looks better in person than the photos would indicate) with a "Round Brilliant" cut. Sapphires are some of the most beautiful, highly sought after and durable gems in the world, and fine color change gems are among the most popular gems among collectors and dealers. Sapphire is also the birthstone for September so this would make an incredibly unique gift.
