Spinel

This is a beautiful rich pink Spinel (with very slight reddish overtones) from Sri Lanka, not the typical Burmese material. It is a very attractive gem with an almost "metallic" vibrance when viewed in the sunlight. Many Spinels tend to have a somewhat metallic quality to them, which is part of the reason they are so desirable among collectors. The gem is virtually eye clean in clarity and has a traditional "Oval Brilliant" cut. A very good quality Spinel with a rich and lively color. Keep in mind that fine quality gem Spinels are only found in a few places in the world, and good pink Spinels are among the most coveted by collectors and dealers.
