Tourmaline (unusual color)

This is certainly a rarity for Tourmaline. It came from a piece of rough that we acquired from a good friend who bought it at the source. It was the only piece with this odd golden-peach hue mixed among the more traditional pinks and less common orange colored material. When we got the parcel, my brother, Brett, pulled this one aside as he said he was going to be the one to facet it. The final result is this gorgeous Modified Round Brilliant cut gem with virtually eye clean clarity.

Keep in mind that Tourmaline is classified as a "Type-3" gemstone, so inclusions are almost always present, and when you have a "clean" stone like this with such a unique color, it's a big deal. A great stone for any Tourmaline gemstone collector, and I think it would make for a special piece of jewelry with the custom cutting and incredibly hard to find color.
