Tourmaline (Rubellite)

This Tourmaline gem is a good example of how much fire and intensity these Nigerian Tourmalines can pack into a smaller sized stone. Even though this gem is less than 1 carat in weight, it's about as saturated as they come, showing intense pink coloring, bordering on red "Rubellite" hues. In terms of the color, the stone is honestly more red than pink and even has a tiny bit of a purple overtone in certain lighting. It does have some slight inclusions which are amplified in the photos, as it looks better in person. One could easily set this gem into a ring or pendant for an October birthday or make a nice addition to a suite of faceted Tourmaline gems.
