Some of the best crystallized phosphates from Bolivia are found at this locality. Childrenite is a relatively rare, hydrated iron aluminum phosphate and some of the better and more unique specimens of this mineral come from Llallagua. There are only a few localities in the world where this mineral is found.

This specimen features several excellent, rare, sparkling, brownish color spherical aggregates (comprised of dozens of triangular bladed crystals) of Childrenite sitting on contrasting, white/colorless, gemmy Quartz crystal matrix! I have photographed the crystals under the microscope to better illustrate their quality. The fact that the spheres are somewhat isolated and not completely intergrown makes for an impressive and rarely seen representation from Siglo XX.

Certainly, one of the VERY few matrix Childrenite specimens where one can see beautifully crystallized spheres with the naked eye. This is unique material, and this is one of the best and ONLY pieces that I have to offer. A rare display specimen of this wonderful phosphate from this amazing locality. Don't miss out on this one.
