Tourmalines are one of the few gems that occur in natural bi-color or tri-color stones. This beautiful stone was cut from a crystal found nearly 40 years ago in Brazil. The stone shows a distinct pink color throughout the majority of the body of the gem, with a lively green color on the other end and a beautiful colorless thin "Achroite" zone in the middle. Upon close inspection, the stone is nearly eye clean, but it does have the tiniest of inclusions.
Keep in mind that Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, as inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so this gem is well above average in terms of clarity for Tourmaline. This is a great NATURALLY occurring tri-color gem that would make for a wonderful piece of jewelry or even for a gift for somebody with an October birthday as Tourmaline along with Opal are the birthstones for that month.
