Simply one of the best examples we’ve seen from the locality. A fine quality specimen of the first order as this piece has everything one would want for the material. First, the rich purple hue is about as dark as any other specimen I can remember seeing of these so-called "Grape Chalcedony / Grape Agate specimens" from Indonesia. Secondly, the shimmering, almost "wet" looking vitreous luster is second to none in the lot. Thirdly, the size of the individual "balls" is very good compared to a large percentage from this discovery. Lastly, except for one small corner, I can’t find any damage on the piece. The superior combination of the fine color, gorgeous luster, wonderful aesthetics and overall presentation make this a desirable and worthwhile piece for your collection. Pieces like this are few and far between, as so many countless pieces have poor color, dull luster or smaller spheres, so having the best of all aspects in one specimen is significant in my mind.
