A very good quality, COMPLETE, sharp, lustrous, silvery colored classic “cogwheel”-twinned crystal group is aesthetically flaring off lustrous, golden, octahedral metallic Pyrite matrix. The “cogwheel” is essentially undamaged, save the tiniest of “Wilbers” on the edge. It’s amazing to me that you can see all sides of the “cogwheel” as it’s not buried into the Pyrite matrix, which is EXCEPTIONALLY RARE in my experience with the material.
If you’re a Bolivian collector, or a collector of fine quality sulfides/sulfosalt display specimens, then you cannot afford to pass this one up. The piece is priced accordingly for the superb quality, rarity and the fact that it is literally one in several thousand. I cannot recall a comparable Bournonite from Machacamarca, and I can say without fear of contradiction, that this piece is truly one-of-a-kind.
This piece is rather difficult to photograph, and it’s simply BETTER IN PERSON.
